Pat Utomi
Chairmen of 35 political parties under the Coalition of Registered Political Parties in Delta State (CRPP) have called on Professor Pat Utomi to come and rescue the state from decades of poor leadership by running for governor in 2019.
In an open letter addressed to Prof. Utomi, signed by their chairman and secretary, Hon. Efe Tobor and Prince Jude Eze, the political parties urged Utomi to contest the governorship election, saying he remained the only candidate of hope.
The group noted that since 1999, the state had received huge allocations from the Federal Government but that sadly, the people were left in misery while a few, who were in government, lived in affluence.
The political parties also decried the sorry state of infrastructure in Delta, noting that despite its enormous wealth in oil, gas, fertile land, hard-working and talented people, enough to make it the best in Nigeria, the state’s had remained backward.
The 35 political parties out of 40 in the state, recalled that during the 2015 governorship election, they invested their hopes and future in Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, saying they thought he would change things when he promised prosperity for all.
